Earth

  • Earth is the densest planet in the Solar System. Of the four rocky planets, it is the largest and most massive.

Earth has a great diversity of elements, or to put it another way, Earth has a large percentage of its mass which comes from rarer elements like iron, Magnesium, Silicon (all make up less than a percent of mass in the galaxy). Hydrogen and Helium are considered primordial elements and make up 99% of all mass in the galaxy as far as can be told. The remaining elements come from formation in giant and supergiant stars and supernovas.

Earth is the only known habitable planet which contains complex lifeforms and living organisms. “Plants and other organisms take up nutrients from water, soils and the atmosphere. These nutrients are constantly recycled between different species.” (wiki)

This is very literal way that the diversity of species of life help to perpetuate the others where there is really not much in the way of truly new material.

Earth is about eight light-minutes away from the Sun, and Earth's axis of rotation is tilted with respect to the perpendicular of its orbital plane around the Sun, producing seasons.

  • Earth has a very circular orbit, like Venus and Neptune. It has the fifth fastest rotational velocity, after the 4 gas giants.

Earth exists in a habitable region of space which is defined by its distance from the Sun and is derived from the heat from the Sun being temperate enough for life to sustain itself.

The seasonal cycles of the Earth and the corresponding life processes of plants and animals constitute a major part of all the goings on of living cultures on Earth, though cultures near the equator experience much less of the seasonal changes.

The Solar Day Length of 24 hours is the preeminent energetic pattern which sets the pace of life on Earth. This is different from the Sidereal Day Length of 23 hrs 54min which helps to determine the velocity of spin with the relatively fixed background stars as a reference frame.

The Year Length is the third shortest of the planetoids chosen here, and Earth has a close resonance with Mars by Year (it fits in the Western Musical system (2^(x/12)) if Earth is the Root and is an octave plus a minor Second away if we use a musical measure). One might describe the musical properties of the Earth only with regards to the Music of the whole Solar System. In that way the Moon is the relative minor of the Earth via its year. The relative minor shares the same notes as the relative major, and are a major part of western harmonic structure within diatonic types of musical construction.

Via the Day Length, Earth has a resonance with both Pluto and Neptune such that they form a Major Chord, which is a way of solidifying a key and musical system into a cyclical pattern. The Day Length Scale of Earth forms the first 5 notes of the Western Scale of Harmony within 1%. Harmonically the pattern is a I-IV-V walking blues pattern with Saturn, Pluto, Ceres and Neptune.

The idea here is that though by its distance from the Sun and its Year Length (which are strongly related and constant see Kepler) Earth is Harmonically somewhat isolated, by the Day Length it forms very supportive and resonant perpetual patterns with the more distant parts of the Solar System and the 2 belts especially.

  • Earth is usually accorded as the 10th Sphere in Hermetic diagrams, called Kingdom (or MaLKuT in Hebrew). Perhaps this derives from its diverse organic life and rare element abundance. Since we are all pretty much stuck here on our paradisiacal Earth it is quite reasonable that Hermetic thinkers accorded the 10th sphere to physical substance. However, it is obvious that all the Spheres are physical yet quite distant and have very different physical natures than Earth.

The pertinent point to make here is that Earth is the Sphere of Influence we all are wishing our desires and ideas to manifest within. This is the Hermetically Sealed Room we all live in and were born from. Even so, it is important to understand that life had to change and adapt and unify with other life forms to survive. In symbiosis we trust.

    Symbiosis

“Symbiosis is any type of a close and long-term biological interaction between two different biological organisms, be it mutualistic, commensalistic, or parasitic.” wiki

    Biome

    Language

If Mercury be the Semiotically inclined “ancestor” then Earth would be the obvious Ancestor of Language, as it is here that language originates (from the culture that developed it).

    Culture

  • The constant presence of natural features in the landscape of the biome would be the only markers for a perennial species of life to work with on a macro level of organic life. Without rock mineral formations and forests which persist there is no simple way for memory to work with an idea of culture.

On a micro level, the persistence of elements, chemicals, and microorganisms would determine such levels of consciousness as are possible. These conditions are much more volatile on a macrolevel without rock and more long lived flora which persist beyond seasonal cycles. On a microlevel all there is to do without long term structures is to form group cultures in ecological niches which become the persistent form. In this way, perhaps biological symbiosis is a way that persistent form holds within more than it does without: we take the tactics and power of beings from all possible eras of natural history to persist even when weather and geology change.
